Hi,
I have a 1.6 meg II hatchback.
I have just ordered the relevant EIbach pro lowering springs.
Basically, I plan on installing these myself on the driveway. I already have 2 jackstands and 1 2T hydraulic jack. I will buy a torque wrench that covers a decent range of settings and a set of spring clamps before any work begins. I also have a decent socket set.
Can you please tell me if there is anything else i will need and PLEASE can someone either give me instructions to follow or at least point me in the direction.
I would like to know how this is done, in reasonable detail to help repel my bad luck.
Regards,
Dave

since you have the tools, buy a haynes manual. save you a bit on labour from garages.

Before i did mine i just watched a few videos on youtue. Once you have seen one car down you will get the gist. Its really not a very hard job.
Just becareful taking out the spring as even when the cars up in the air there is still quite a bit of potential energy in it, enough to cause serious pain!!!

Ok guys,
Will a haynes manual for the phase 1 meg 2 be suitable as mines a phase 2 and thats all i can find.
Without having a manual i really wont know what needs to come off to do this.
Someone please take the time to give at least some instructions.

Re: How to fit lowering springs
Go to youtube and look for lowering spring replacement.
It really is a simple job. Once you get your head under the 'hood' it all becomes clear as day what had to be removed.
I had never done it before, watched a couple of videos, gave it a go and saw it was childs play. ( given i had a rather sore thumb)
