Which Bulb?

Postby KiftyGT » Sun Jan 03, 2010 9:00 am

Hi there,

My headlamp main beam bulb has just gone. When I am looking for a replacement it asks whether I need with/without gas discharge?

I have a 57 megane GT DCI. Does someone no which I need?

thanks in advance and happy new yr.

Is your car equipped with xenon headlights? If that's the case you need D2S xenon lamp. Hella is around 110€.

This is the best I could find:

Looks like a standard Halogen H1 but direstraits could be right - it maybe Xenon. Best remove the old bulb for identification and take it to a motor factors.

Best advice for Megane owners: sell it before it bankrupts you!

Renault Mégane II light bulbs are hard to reach. It is better if you take the vehicle. :-)

Today is my birthday. I am working for you on my birthday FFS. :-)

If you have HIDs in the car get replacement bulbs with a kelvin of 6000.

If you have standard bulbs get Philips X-treme power +80% -- Best non HID bulbs in the world.

I have these as my full beam, when i changed them i had one starndard bulb in and one Philips X-treme power +80% to see what they were like. It was like night and day in comparison. Well with £25.

I prefer 4200-6000K color temperature.
4200K is white light with yellow color (color temperature of original xenon lamp).
5000K is white light with little yellow color (highest color temperature permissible by european standard).
6000K is white light with little blue color.
