could anybody tell me if this will work with my head unit (54 reg tuner list cd standard cd HU)

Hi

Think it will work, but not sure. Connection is the correct one (8 pins blue mini Iso, see other e-bay item below), but then still, it might not work. You could give it a try and if it isn't compatible, re-sell it again on e-bay.

Unfortunately, connection is same on both cases. Analog or digital, both using "blue mini ISO" (and on same pins!).

The CD changer will work with both UpdateList and TunerList head units. Make sure that whichever one you get has the interconnecting cable and the code for the unit (usually the same as the original headunit it was hooked up to)

Does anyone know if the in dash 6 disc changer is compatible with aftermarket HU's or is it updatelist compatible only? I want to upgrade HU and keep in dash chnager?? Any advice would be welcomed. ta............ :-)

The changer communicates with the head unit using the protocol by VDO-Dayton, and the audio is sent using S/PDIF. If a replacement head unit talks the same protocols then it will work.
