overheating

Hey guy. Having nothing but problems with megane these days. On the way to work today i noticed that the temp guage was really high. I have 3 ideas what it could the water pumps gone, one of tje pipes is blocked or the thermastat is nacked. has anybody got anymore insight. All and any help welcome

radiator could be leaking, air lock. when u turn the car off can u hear/see the water bubbling?

For now you should check the coolant level. Post back your results

ok lads i checked for leaks theres non, the coolant level hasnt changed, i have to say i has to be the water pump thats has packed in, so what prices am i looking at for gettin that repaced, and is worth just doing the pump or th pump and belts

If you are going to replace it, do the belts while your in there. It seems very odd that it just simply stopped. Looking back at the design, the only thing that could have happened is that the impeller has come off. I would have thought the roller on the outside would drop off and you would lose all timing... Odd. You are absolutely sure there are no other problems?

a thermostat fault could cause this situation. if it gets stuck when it should open it may cause an overheating problem
