Replacement Fuel Flap Cover

Postby UK.BladeRunner » Mon Feb 28, 2011 3:11 pm

During the very cold snap in December my fuel flap froze and I couldn't open it when desperately needing to re-fuel.

Unfortunately I managed to tug the plastic cover off from the actual Black flap. Got it back on again, but it fell off unknowingly when I drove the car around soon after! I don't believe I broke anything on the actual Black flap itself, but may have done on the old plastic cover (Which incidentally is the same colour as the car). Probably the reason it fell off as something was not quite holding it in place properly!

Today my car has gone in for a service at the stealership and they've quoted me £46.34 fitted for this new piece of plastic!

Has anyone here manged to get one from somewhere else cheaper... A scrapage yard maybe!?

You often find renault plastic is very expensive.

Try the usual.. breakers or ebay.

Thanks Paddy,

Do you know where I can find the exact Paint colour and type for my car... Have had a look around the various Manuals etc but can't find anything, It is a popular colour for Megane's but I obviously want to get the type and shade exactly right!!

Cheers

The paint code is on a sticker you can see when yu open the drivers door, if you don't know which part of the code is what you need take a pic n post it on here and I'll let you know, once you have this paint code, I'd send it along with the part request to a couple of Renault breakers and you should end up with the correct part for alot less :-D

I'm looking for the same, i bought a new one unpainted and therefore unmatched. Renault dealership wuote £16 for new one then another £30 to spray. I kept the unpainted, but the day after fitting someone nicked it. I have looked in all the usual places but can't find one yet. Breakers is the next port of call.
