I thought itd get better performance, cars the 1.5 86bhp model have been told there's easy gains to be made...

Come on now eddie that's a very out of date view on engine performance.
I say do the decat. Best way is to buy a used cat and just hollow it out. No need to worry about MOT either as they don't test emissions on diesels.
Very good gains are seen from just a simple decat.

Ive got the 225 exhaust on my 1.5, if I remove the decat will it make it louder?
I think Anthony your idea will be best to get an old one and hollow it as it looks like its still on.

It will make it louder, but remember we have tractors so it'll be louder but probably not the sound your after!lol
I've got a twin Remus exhaust on mine, seems a waste without further modification!lol

Re: Megane 1.5 de cat...
is a dcat the same as a dpf removal? if so have a look at my post, i got one done. Gotta agree with anthony tho, its worth having it done, if done properly. If not its a F*cking nightmare!!!!
