Hi no expert by any means, but when my meg clutch was failing for the third time within a year I always noticed the peddle dipping on hard accelaration, say perhaps on entering the motorway...........so much so it would be on the deck and have to be pulled manually up with my toe then pump the peddle to re-establish pressure. One more sure tell is clutch on the deck first thing in morning and having to be pulled up by the the toe then pumped to re-establish pressure. Other sure sign was of course fluid all over the ground when I went to it one morning.
Now I am only saying this as the car was returned to the dealer with those very symptoms, also reported fluid dripping on the ground from the engine bay ( bar the blood bath under the car reported previous), only to be returned by the "head technician" reporting no fault to find..............3 times return with same symptom folks before major failure , blood bath, etc "ok its the slave, will fix by 5 tonight then you can pick up". I go to collect, put my foot on where clutch should be and I find it on the floor, told i have just been unlucky etc etc etc. and then Im told Its also the master.......so sorry etc etc. from what I have read what i described is a classic clutch hydraulic fluid failure, and yet "head Tech" could find no fault , a simple pressure test would of revield this so I've been told. 3 full clutch kits fitted at what would of been huge expense.
Jesus and the dealers say they are the experts. All done under warranty which has since gone, still get nervous.
Forgot to add the so called expert/experts were working for Arnold Clark.
