hi all, i have a 2004 megane,
the nearside rear window started playing up, it opened fulley & then would not operate, after reading various forums i decided to change the regulator,
this however has not fixed the window. wondered if anyone had an idea of a likely fault. heres hoping, gary

Re: rear window
Most likely the wiring harness or corrosion in it. I've just had my door panel off. I suggest you remove yours again, and unclip the connector at the door jamb. See if the pins are clean. Correct as necessary. Next, get a multimeter and check the cables one by one for continuity.
My suggestion is that If you find any that are dodgy, scotch lock a fresh piece of wire between the two ends through the rubber grommet. The harness is expensive.
Renault offer 75% of the cost if your car is 7 years young and <100k miles.

wished i had known that before i bought the regulator.
anyway checked all the door wiring with a multimeter & it is all fine,
i am going to check the drivers door wiring next time she lets me have the car for more than 5 minutes. unless anyone has any more ideas, thanks gary

Re: rear window
well fixed this one in the end.
found nothing wrong at the drivers door so i stripped the rear door again.
while checking for feeds to the motor with the test light the window suddenly shot into life. so i can only assume a poor connection to the motor.
strange really because its been on & off several times i would have thought it would be fine.
still anything is possible om a french car i suppose.
at least her indoors is happy now

Re: rear window
AAArrrgggghhh!!!!! this problem has just happened to me. my missus had the car at work when it happened, so i had to go there after my work (she works late on thursdays) there was little light so i did what i could do. i pulled apart the motor, oops, and pushed the window up, just so it was secure-ish. do you think the motor is now wrecked, im tempted to send it to my local renault garage as i have no free time atm.
