Accessory Socket Power Down

I have just bought a 10 plate Megane Coupe i-music. The main reason was the tunepoint which I have connected in a DAB radio that I want to keep in the glove box ( worked fine in my old Laguna ). The problem I have is the 12v Power outlet seems to remain live even after the iginition is off and the car is locked.

Is there a time before this powers down or does it remain constantly live, I am concerned about flattening my battery should i forget to turn the unit off or unplug from the socket.

The handbook is next to useless so was hoping that someone on here knows the answer, probably being simple and will be classed as a normal dizzy blonde.

Any help form you guys would be appreciated.
