Im wondering if anybody can help me.

I am on the verge of purchasing a cd player but i would like my cd/radio display and steering wheel controls to still work!

is this possible? If so what cable do i need?

If you fit the unit without buying any other cables your cd/display in the middle of the dash will only display the clock, and your steering controls wont work either, however you can buy cables to make both work with the new headunit you buy. Just ask the place you bought the stereo from about these cables. If its halfords or something like that then they'll run your car reg through the computer and find out what leads you need. Other than that, you can find the cables online. there are thousands of them for many diffrent cars.

But theyre quite expensive. The one i got for my steering controls was £37. Didnt bother with one for the display.

yeah i asked at halfords and the guy said its quite a complicated job and that dodgy things may occur on the dash etc such as clock will freeze.
he wanted me to buy these 2 cables for it though, one wa £81 and the other was 35!
il go to a specialist i think.. i dont wanna get fleeced!
