Re: injector seals
that was my thoughts im no completly daft when it comes to cars been brought up with cars but every garage i have been at recently and there been a few think im a silly wee lassie that they can quote anything to going to a recommended on tomo but just wanted a rough idea so i knew
Re: injector seals
How odd. Open the bonnet, pull off the engine cover, then start it. Have a good look around the injectors and the associated pipework from the common rail and to/from the high pressure pump. If you can't smell diesel, or see it, you have no problem.

Re: injector seals
Although its a easy job, just need a morning or an afternoon dedicated to change all the 4 injector seals. Did you made some service on the injectors recently?

Re: injector seals
Are you saying that the engine has been rebuilt due to a cambelt snap?
If so, all the valve seals, guides, seats, tappets, shims etc should have been replaced/repaired at a machine shop - properly. Other work was probably also required (new injectors and re-programming thereof). Get a receipt of the work done then contact whoever did the work. I should imagine there ought to be some guarantee subject to timeframe.

Re: injector seals
Hey there
Just had a very similar prob, my 1.5dci was leaking fuel from the injector seal to fuel return pipe, arnold clark quoted the following, replacement part £70.00, to supply and fit £320, to supply and fit and replace starter motor which they recommended £530. Had a very good friend look at it, he removed the seal from injector to return pipe and noticed the tiny O'ring had perished, replaced and reconnected now sweet. Cost of this job was £1.13 from B&Q and of course the price of a pint. No fuel had leaked on the starter motor so no need to replace............yet.
