Radiators

I have a 1.4 petrol and know that the radiator i need also fits a 1.6. Have picked up a air condensor, rad and rad fan/housing off a salvage yard, air condensor and rad fan part numbers match up and are for all rads, however the rad is from a 1.5dci, this also fits the 2.0 petrol. The inputs/pipe inlets appear to be and are meant to be the same and the width and height of the rad is meant to be the same but the rad itself is thicker (apparently due to the bigger engine its designed to cool). Does anyone know if this will still work with my 1.4 petrol? i have to install the sub frame/carrier beam and crash beam etc.. so nothing is in place yet so accomodating the extra depth in rad wont be a problem but i am not entirely sure if the rad will work properly with my engine size?

Will work with out bother. My see a very very slight gain due to a larger volume of air being cooled / colder

Much like adding a larger intercooler to a turboed car.
