Vacuum In The Fuel Tank

Postby marrky112 » Fri Sep 24, 2010 6:09 pm

As the title says :( .... it makes me a vacuum in the tank ...
when charging to the top fuel spills in the middle of the car, and before it leaked to the overflow at the entrance to the tank and was leaked near the right rear wheel

Let me try to understand your problem. When you put fuel in the tank it leaks inside the car. Is this correct? Or, is the leak external (near the wheel) only?

I don't understand the vacuum part. If the tank was under negative pressure it would not leak surely? Instead it would draw air in...

Have you checked to see if anything is blocked such as item 9 in the first diagram?

not, only leaking from the outside

before, in case of overfill fuel was leaking behind the rear right wheel, It is normal .
but now when I want to fill to the top, leaking in the middle of the car and I have to stop charging (come almost to the top).

Regarding the vacuum, I noticed that after returning to the road (about 200 km)...when I stopped could be heard very quiet hum around the rear right wheel,
I thought it was an electrical malfunction.I accidentally pressed a damper on the reservoir the air rushed in (wushh) :-) .
I do not want want to come to the deformation of the reservoir :(

because I doubt that I have a problem with a valve 8,I think the ball stuck in a position to discharge

I think that item 9 does not have much impact on this, only serves to degassing while the fuel flows in

I hope that I am now a bit clearer.

Any help is appreciated  , once again sorry for bad English

I understand. The only reason I asked the question is that in the many posts that I have read and written on here, I have never come across this problem. Has anyone else?

Your diagnosis might be correct. I expect you might have to replace the part.

No problem with your English!

I'm sorry for bringing this thread back to life so long since the last update, but today I noticed that when I fill my fuel tank to the top, it also leaks outside the car.

I still wasn't able to figure out what is the problem, but maybe you can help me: what did you do exactly to solve your problem?
