My 1.9dci 03 reg has exactly the same symptons. This usually happens when the car is on a downslope and braking! I have checked the fluid and the level is o.k. Did you solve your problem and if so, how?

Hy there,

Maybe the problem is on the fluid level sensor it self. Im not sure but i think you can move the sensor manually and then see if the light comes on and off, that will give you a clue if the problem is the sensor with problems or not.

Cheers!

Handbrake repair

Postby taz » Wed Feb 08, 2012 8:19 pm

Just repaired my hanbrake, it was not latching on. The problem was the button mechanism, really simple to repair. The plastic holder within the handle was smashed in three places and was easily repaired by drilling and bolting back together. It too two hours and Iam not a mechanic. Well worth checking out could save you hundreds from a garage.
