Losing signal on Tom Tom

Hello all
I have just purchased an 05 meagne Sports Tourer 1.9DCI My Tom Tom keeps losing it sat signal, tried in other cars and its fine so it isn't the Tom Tom. Any ideas i've heard fro a friend with a new Scenic that they have similar issues.

Some cars were fitted with a heat reflecting screen
Basic glass coating blocks the signal
Had same problem with a 03 clio and road angel

my 05 has a heat reflecting screen but it seems fine with sat nav (but i have a proper receiver).

The manual says the uncoated part is the dotted area by the mirrors. give it a go - if it gets better signal, it's the windscreen

Or remove the windscreen...
