215/35R17 require a 7-8.5'' wide wheel, and yours is 6.5J17...

How do you visualise to yourself the Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF) reliability metric? If course one can't see or smell it!
The other point is that your insurance company may refuse to pay, if you crash due to any failure related to wheels/suspension.

Did you eat the ' .gov health and saftey manual' last time you ate? ??
They stick to the rim, they stick to the road, many miles with out a problem and on the side they look alot better than /50 side walls.

You are irritated, Ulrich. I am not talking about safety, but about reliability engineering and about possible legal issues. I don't mind wide tyres, but they should be matched to the rims and suspension. For example, see what they've done to accommodate 235/40R19 on 159 LE/TI. Try one of these and you'll see what I mean!

These require 6-7.5'' rims, so you are safe with 6.5J17.
