Drivers door chrome end cover

Just rang the stealers in Cardiff, and neededa price for the drivers end cap (chrome peeled off of mine) for a 04 plate 3 door megane. They then told me that there is no over onn the drivers side and that the whole handle assembly would cost £54.32..... is this true? if it is, i need to know if anyone is willing to sell me one, as i cant justify paying the stealers that amount of money.

Also just to throw it into the mix the reno sport door badges are £53.00 each .... what a joke

I would ask them the price again, I got mine from Renault Newtownards for £18 each. The phase 2 type (brighter chrome)

Im sure i still have the recipt.

Also no renault do not sell a seperate cap for any door other than the passangers. I would try a breakers.

cheers mate. just managed to bag a set of phase 2 reno sport for £25 brand new still sealed in bags..

will have to visit the breakers this weekend.

Must be a fault with the chrome mine has done the same on the drivers side on my 04 megane can't fine one no were

chrome's peeling off all my door handles

surely it wouldn't be too difficult to take the caps off and respray them would it?

The end caps come off on all the doors apart from the front passengers side as its just a clip on cover.

To remove the end cap on the drivers door it quite easy , open the door and on the side at the handle's level there is a rubber bung, remove that and if you look inside the hole you will see a lever just make a hook and give it a pull towards you from the bottom. The end cap will now pull out make sure you push the lever back to lock it back in place when finished.
