Water Pump...

Hi does anyone know if the OE water pumps on the megane have plastic impellors or metal please..?
its a 2004 1.9 dci 120bhp
dont seem to be getting any flow of water around the engine even though its not over heating and is only showing a 1/4 way up the gauge, no pressure build up or water returning to expansion bottle, and definately no leaks and not losing any fluid.
Car had frozen up, dont think i had enough anti freeze in during the bad weather, car started and ran for about 20 minutes however when i turned off it popped rad so changed that but now dont seem to have pressure build up now its all running again, heater works fine so got water flow that way.
any other ideas would be appreciated also.

The original one has plastic impellors. When I changed my cambelt I made sure to change the water pump to a metal one.

I know its obvious, but the thermostat may be stuck open. I only suggest this before you undertake a lot of work to replace the pump.
