Hi guys, i changed out my tunerlist head unit over the summer with a second hand sony cdx-gt30rn under the impression that it would work with the steering wheel controls and display.
Unfortunately this wasn't so and since then i've been trying to get my hands on an adaptor.
So for christmas i managed to get a Connects 2 CTDRNS003 adaptor http://www.lowcostcaraudio.co.uk/lcca/mia/d/connects2+ctdrns003+renault+stalk+display+adaptor/pid/7643045
however when i attempted to put it in this morning i can't find the connections.
the instructions are pretty incomprehensible but my stereo does not seem compatible.
however on their website connects 2 say that the adaptor works with any sony headunit with a cd changer connection, which it has. this has me baffled.
do i need any more parts or is the stereo just incompatible?
has anyone else had this problem?
any ideas which ones are compatible?
Thanks in anticipation.
Jonathan

Re: Connects 2 adaptor Problem
hi,
having looked at that document i would say no. that unit seems to be for adapting another cd changer.
i do not have a cd changer in. just the unit which has only a regular iso connection.
there seems to be a sony unilink connection on a lot of stereos that this unit requires and i may need to adapt that but i really don't know.
i'm going to email connects 2 about it and try and find out what the problem is but that could take a while what with the holidays.
thanks for your help though and any other help is greatly appreciated

Which connectors are you looking for? Please describe exactly what the problem is.
The problem might be that the radio you've bought isn't a standard Sony radio, but a specially designed model for Renault (hence the "RN" addition to the modelnumber). The 3,5mm jack might be missing from this model.
The Connects2-adapter was designed to work with standard radio's.

Re: Connects 2 adaptor Problem
the connections required are a 3.5 mm jack(headphone size) and a cable which looks very similar to an old mouse connection for a PC.
the stereo was as far as i know designed for renault. as you say hence the RN in the name.
By standard radios what do you mean. standard factory fitted radios. or standard aftermarket (i.e. not designed for specific vehicles)
Thanks.

Re: Connects 2 adaptor Problem
I meant standard aftermarket radios. So you're missing the Unilink (=cd-changer)-connector and the remote-controle-connector. I'm afraid you'll need another radio.
