problems with my 1.6 megane 2003! PLEASE HELP

Hi all, I have just joined this forum, as I have just got a megane. It is a 53 reg 3 door 1.6 dynamique, 5 speed manual, its done 74,000 miles, i got it from the auto trader. I have had the car a few days, but there is a few problems. The dash says electrical fault! I have had it to a garage that printed off a list of problems:
DF049 - refrigerant sensor circuit,voltage outside tolerance limits - Active
DF005 - engine speed sensor circuit - Memory
DF005 - engine speed sensor circuit - Active
DF085 - Fuel pump relay active command circuit - Active
DF080 camshaft dephaser circuit - Memory
5 faults in total, but two say memory, and two say active.

The only problems I have noticed with car is when you start it from cold it cuts out after around 20 seconds, but once it has been revved up a little bit it runs spot on, And the speedo doesnt work! Also the abs light is lit up on the dash!

If any of you guys can help it would be of great help, as I dont want to take it to a garage and get ripped off!

hi, I have been trying to find codes on internet, only thing i have found is that 085 is only a relay that needs replacing. Any help with all other problems would be great, thanks

Hi, done more searches on internet!
have found the following df005 is a faulty cam shaft sensor (tdc). it makes the speedo intermitant, abs light come on, so think this is the problem, can anyone with autodata ect confirm? thanks.

looks like the coolant needs draining (previous owner maybe just topped up with water?). needs a service and dephaser replaced.

dephaser is £180 from renault plus a cambelt if it hasnt been changed within the last 5-10k. If your mechanically minded you can it yourself but if you struggle to change a spark plug i wouldnt go anywhere near it! I've got to do my dephaser soon and i'm a honda 4stroke engineer and even i'm not very happy about doing it!! lol

Re-gas the aircon, replace the TDC sensor, replace the relay, clear the codes, and see what re-appears.

The memory codes might have been left behind from a prior job.

A shorter list would be better anyway!

Also remember, a faulty or inoperative speedometer is illegal!

Hi all, thanks for all advice so far, so i have ordered the tdc sensor £22 from gsf shop, any idea which relay is the fuel relay? or the code number for a replacement? thanks.

correct me if i'm worng people but am i right in thinking the fuse boards are the same as the lagunas and that the relays are soldered to the back of the fuse board??

You might be right - I don't have that model. It should be a big ass thing though not a surface mount jobby, so you could still get the old soldering iron to it.
