New Megane Coupe
My Megane CC is in for a service today and have been kindly given the new Megane Coupe for the day to try.
I'm impressed so far, its only a 1.6, but with six gears it cruises along nicely at motorway speeds and handles extremely well. The car doesn't roll around corners and is very well planted to the tarmac also giving much more feedback through the steering wheel, despite having the same setup at the front as our current Meganes have. This one comes complete with the built in Sat Nav sounding very much like Kirsty Young for some reason, not a bad voice to have though .
The interior is a slight step up in terms of quality, but I wouldn't say its a big leap. All well laid out, but the new LCD Speedo coupled with an analogue Rev counter is unusual to say the least.
All in all - Great fun to drive!
Would I buy one?
Yes I would. Simple as that.

Re: New Megane Coupe
Had the car yesterday and have fallen in love with it,the shape is very appealing and I think when I can afford it,will get one.The Cabin is very low so there isn't much headroom if you are too tall but in general nice feel to it.This one was Dynamique 1.6 110 bhp,at first it lacked the power I am used to,as the Clio has got a turbo powered engine but after a while got used to it.as usual Dynamique has got good spec on it this one had the USB connection and 17" alloys as extra which were nice. There seems to be a 1.4 Turbo on the pipeline, the same engine that already is in the new Grand Scenic producing 130bhp.
the digital speedo is quite light at night but again I am sure you can turn the brightness down a bit.there are some small touches which I liked,e.g. the little gearstick indicator in the rev counter part, which for fuel economy purposes tells you when is the best time to change gear by pointing an arrow up or down.the hands free was a bit different as instead of pressing the little buttons on the door to lock, you don't have to do anything just walk away and the car will lock itself unless you have locked the car using the key car, which then you have to unlock the same way.In order to re-activate the option, you just need to start the car again.although, the door handle button was only on driver side and looked a bit cheap.Boot size is fine my only point is the opening which is a kind of a funny shape due to the shape of the car but I should imagine functional enough.
I have included a few photos of the car as well.

Re: New Megane Coupe
Well, I'm going to the dealer to order a Black Dynamique with 17's in the morning.
It's only the 1.6 engine as wth 9 points it's the only one we can afford to insure !

Re: New Megane Coupe
1.5 dCi is great, but I tried Grandtourer 1.9 dCi the other day, and I think that's gonna be it next time.
