CHECK INJECTION LIGHT FINALLY SORTED

Postby KIB » Wed Oct 07, 2009 9:55 pm

I had the check injection light coming on and off over a period of time, after spending 100s on diagnostics i have finally sorted it and the car drives superb.

If any of you have a 1.5dci 05ish year Megane then this may be of interest.

I was eventually told that the turbo was over boosting which meant the ecu chipped in and reduced the fuel presure to protect the engine, thus bringing on the check injection light. I replace the turb boost valve, no differance so i proceeded to remove the turbo and send it away to be checked.

The result was that the oil seal behind the variable vains was allowing oil to pass by, the oil then burnt due to the heat and clogged the varible vains causing them to stick which inturn meant that it was over boosting all of the time. A repair of new seals, bearings and a fine sandblast and clean inside to free the vains and hey presto sorted. I've now completed nearly 6k and the light hasn't come on once and the mpg has increased by 2-3 mpg.

The turbo is easy enough to remove, its took about 30-40mins to get off.

Just thought I'd share this with you.
Once the CAT is off and the intercooler pipes its a piece of cake.

Best advice for Megane owners: sell it before it bankrupts you!
