Always thought that chiptuning was not an option for fuel saving but only extra hp's+fuel consumption.
Any thoughts on this?
Will this chip actually do what they're promising?

There is generally two answers to a question, The long, 'Yes' and the short 'No'. This question gets the shorter answer...
What this does is in a nut shell is trick your ECU into thinking the air intake is colder than it is thus dumping more fuel into the chambers...
It’s just an expensive 'pig-back' system. The same results can be achieved with a variable resistor and a few wires.
As for the 20 odd bhp gain from a 2.0... that number came from a lottery...

Thanks, guys!
I thought it sounded too good to be true since I've only heard the opposite

I bought one of the chips(about £80) for my megane 1.5dci 106 bhp, the fuel consumption was slightly better so i gave it to my son for his megane 1.5dci 86bhp,there was a good increase in performance and also between 10-15 mpg better. My opinion is they work for some and not others

The reason it worked well for you and your son is because you both drive a turbo. For a Naturally Aspirated engine the gains are negligible.
