alarm sound?
hi guys. just picked up my new megane, fantastic so far!
only thing i would like to do is get the alarm to actually make a sound when alarming and disarming. as of yet i havent managed to get the alarm to work, or it doesnt seem to be,
can anyone give me a heads up on what proseses there are for this?
the alarm instruction book only seems to have a "deactivation" prosess, so far i have managed to do somthing that made it bleep 4 times lol and i manage to set off some sort of high pitched drone..... but no sign of a siren or anything.
any help apreciated!

Re: alarm sound?
Pressing button 5 times before locking disables the interior sensors.
If you want to test the alarm lock it with someone in car or leave a window down and wave your arm around inside(don't deadlock it though as window will shut on your arm!!)

Re: alarm sound?
If you rapidly touch/untouch the positive cable to the battery for a few seconds, this in turn, for a reason unkown will ativate the audiable alarm.
one beep for open.
two beeps for locked.
three beeps for dead locked.
Well at least thats how i got my UK spec to do it. Makes a beep/beeps of the alarm on locking/unlocking and a long beep if a door/boot/bonnet/fuel is open.

Yea it works. Has to be in rapid succession.
I think it’s a total reset of the ECU and so reverts to European setting of the alarm (with the beeps) as to the UK spec (without the beeps) It’s something to do with in the UK all cars have the alarm beeping deactivated. Why i dont know.
I now much prefair having the beeping as i have a audio response to the state of locking.

Re: alarm sound?
I don't think so, because this would mean all would start beeping if the battery was disconnected for any engine/electric work and this doesn't happen.
But the above does work im sure of it, i have done it on more than one car.
