I think that, like me, you will be hampered by the fact you have the cd changer which presumably uses up the port that Renaults own Tunepoint and the independent manufacturer iPod options I have found need to connect to. Having said this, I also have the Carminat (basic) SatNav head unit which always seems to be in the "fits all, except . . . . " list. So for me even losing the cd changer wouldn't help. I'd be interested to know when you find a solution.

I bought one of them, the quality was very patchy indeed.

To the OP, if you have a tape deck why not get one of these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-CPA9-AE-Ca ... 29&sr=1-14

I've used FM transmitters with varying results. I had an iTrip when they were still illegal and it was pretty good. Much later I had a different car and a legal iTrip and it was next to useless. Car or iTrip? I don't know. If anyone wants to go the transmitter route, there is one that fits into a cup holder that has received good reviews. I think it's called Macally, McAlly, MacNally . . . . you get the idea.

Another way used to be an FM modulator. I don't see many around now but they fit in the antenna line a bit like VCRs used to plug in to TV aerial sockets before SCART etc. In theory this should be better than a transmitter but (a) I've never tried or even heard one and (b) they plug into the antenna socket at the back of the HU using a plug rarely accommodated by European original equipment radios.

Both the above leave the iPod itself as the only means to access your music which seems to me as hazardous as using a mobile phone. I have trouble with that click-wheel sitting on a train!

I think Alan (DougieCC) may be right but even if you can't have both, if the Denison Gateway allowed me to control an iPod much in the same way I control the CD changer, I'd happily get rid of it; all my CDs are on my iPod anyway.

I have the Desion Gateway 300, dont have changer. However its great sound is perfect, and although it dosen't show songs on display, its still good. Have mine hidden away, but if you get the cradle you can see the songss listed on the ipod itself.

I took CD changer out and fitted Harmon Kardon Plug and Play. Cost £25 and connects straight to radio so quality is no problem.

As you can see from pictures i have ipod and connection box in glove box. Then screen above glove box which shows same as your i-pod. Control wheel i fitted above handbrake which works same as ipod wheel.
Easy to fit and i use it much more than i used to with a transmitter.
