STARTING PROBLEMS

My car is booked it a Four Ashes Renault Specialists tomorrow and they are doing a diagnostics to find if the dephaser is faulty, they will also give me a quote on the price of the part alone, and then a price to fit it. So far so good, let you know how it goes, but at least now i know its gonna be sorted!!

The dephaser doesn't show on the diagnostics until it is completely destroyed. You may also need to keep the car parked for a long time (a few hours) before starting it, so it produced the usual sound. Someone wrote that they had to leave the car overnight at the dealers in order to reproduce the effect...

the garage is aware that it may be dephaser so that's what there looking at... Hope it solves the problem!!

my car is going in next Wednesday for dephaser work an all other necessary work to solve this problem an the garage is paying!! Please tell me this solves the problem, I hope so... Thanks to u all who gave advice!!

i am having problems starting my 03 mergane, the car starts then cuts out and stalls after a few seconds unless i put the gas straight on and get
driving, when it's been standing cold for some time it can take 5 plus attempts to start, can anybody hep

My 19 DCI 2004 megane is more difficult to start after fuel filter change even though i bled all system for air im thinking tdc sensor any help please? Answer the ribbed pipe from fuel filter to high pressure pump had a pin hole in it allowed air in but fixed until today 21/12/14 wet UPC dried out clean all terminals and inside runs fine when warm but first start cuts out saying check injection and injection fault

Are there any bubbles of air visible in the clear pipe to the pump?

DTC was pO651 cleared that. Now IM fault N/A obd reader putting laptop on it tom hopefully. Though if anyone can help. Pls

I've got a 04 scenic megane 1.6v
As I started the engine it cut out and then started
The clock on the dash went to 00:00 flashing
It also indicated that the tire pressure sensor had a fault
And the hand brake needed checking
I went to my local garage who checked the battery it was showing just in the red and have been told the battery needs replaced
I told him it's just over a year old but I don't have the receipt anymore
I'm just gonna buy a new battery and see if this resolves the problem
Apart from that the car runs well
I know nowt much about cars and would like some advise on this matter

Hi All. The name is David. I own a Renault Scenic Megan 2, 1600, 2005 model. Many a time the dash lights come on. The starter button refuses to start the car. I need to disconnect the positive terminal and reconnect. The car will then start for a few times. Had it at the auto twice. No proles found. Also cleaned fuse box in motor area. Help I'm desperate.
