hi,
Anyone know how easy the timing belt change is on a 225, i have changed them on various cars before (Renault, Pug, ford, Vaux - to name a few,
i can see acess could be a problem.. do i require any special tools

Hi mate, access isnt to bad, but you will need specail tools to time the engine up. if you havent got the tools dont bother.

are the tools expensive, cause i would consider buying them
Do you know the recommended mileage to change I've had 3 figures
38,000 - 52,000 and 72,000 mine has done 48,000

Hello, it seems that most newish Renaults have a 72000 mile / 5 years cambelt interval, regards Damian.
PS I would do the waterpump and Aux. belt as well.

The water pump is driven off the cam belt. So no need to consider this.
