Oil Change??

Hi,
My 'change oil soon' message has just come on, if I change the oil and filter, does the message go off or does it need resetting by a garage once done. Its not due a service for a little while yet so I don't wanna take it in if I can help it. Anybody know on this?
I next want it in in 2k for the Cambelt and servive.
