Child Locks Won't Turn Off!

Hi All,
I've just bought a second hand 2005 Megane 1.4 'Rush', really happy with it . The only problem is that the child locks are on on the back doors, so i went looking for the button to turn off the child locks. i found it along with the dim switch for the displays just below and to the right of the steering wheel, however when i flick the button nothing happens i.e the red light doesnt come on and there is no change to the child locks,
i really need to turn them off, all the central locking works fine just this one issue with the child locks.
any help would be great.

uhh i think you're talking about a different switch??

the child lock one is on drivers window switch module. the wide one at the bottom. it'll have a red light on it as its active.

Hi, My car only has front electric windows so the child lock isn't there. we have a 2006 Scenic aswell and the switch is where you say. this is definatly the switch as you can see the red light on it, just it doesnt light up and the switch doesn't do anything. Thanks for your reply though.

Ha ha, sat in car waiting for workmate this morning and remembered this thread, so thought i would have a look for the switch and no i dont have one

i have a sport hatch not a five door




even turned round and checked, yep no doors back there

LOL well done!

Got it to work in the end, did a bit of searching and the cable that is ment to be plugged into the back of the button wasnt connected, i spent half an hour trying to get the connecter to clip onto the switch and finally suceeded, Works Fine now
Need to get my passenger door speaker to work now
