key card wont work

i have two key cards,and both batteries needed changing so i replaced them. my car then broke down with elecreical problems.and the battery was disconnected for about a week. when i had the car back the key cards worked for a day then stopped working altogether. has anyone got any answers please.

do they not work at all? i.e. unlock the car from the buttons etc?

or does that work but won't start car?

the only way i can lock the car is if i lock it from inside holding down the button on the dash for 5 seconds first . then i have to use the key to get in. the two two cards i have seem dead. any answers? as i think it costs about £150 for a new one.

latelty my key cards have been playing up, i changed the batteries and this helped a little... however they now seem to be a little hit and miss, sometimes they'll work first time others they won't... some occassions when in the car and the card is in the slot it states card not detected, when i take it out and put it back it works, can anyone shed any light? i have been told theres a company that'll repair renault key cards for about £30 inc p/p, is it worth this yet as my experience with renault dealers has been none to good!!!
look forward to any comments as this site was great when i had my dephaser problems...
