TEST MODE - what is it ?

went to start the car this morning as going for MOT and the dash displayed "TEST MODE" and all the electrics were comming on/off, dash lighting up like a xmas tree and it said software version 0.93 (i think).
no idea how i got into this

i stopped/locked the car, then a few mins later opened it again, started ignition only (card in slot and press start for 10secs), then dipped clutch and hit start again and all was back to normal again.

anyone know what this TEST MODE is, is it useful ? and how you start / stop it ?
car is a 2004 1.6 vvt megane

cheers, must have caught the stalk button before starting.
for those viewing this when the pdf link above no longer works.
to enter test mode...card in slot, press computer stalk, press start button for 2 secs.
so easily done by accident.
to cancel test mode...press the trip mileage reset button (on the rev counter surround).
ps. the car passed it's MOT

Yes i know the pdf link works now today, and very useful it is too.
i sumarised the relevant contents to just future proof this thread ....as in 2 years time when someone comes across this post this link might not be there anymore etc etc...just a pet hate of mine.

The link works for me too but how do you get to your PDFs when going via ray-lee.co.uk ?

you don't. the webspace is primary for file storage so i can access stuff regardless where i am via ftp. also works great for file backups

How can I enter test mode in my car megane II 2007 ?
I know the procedure in model 2005 and 2006 that when you hold the trip computer function button and turn the ignition on?
but doesnot work in my car because it is phase 2 not phase 1
my car has a white dashboard lighting and I have no reset button I press and hold the trip computer function button for 3 seconds to reset dispalyed data.
