Hi. New to the club and require some advice.
I have a 2004 1.9dci Dynamique with automatic front wipers. The automatic setting works whilst the wiper stalk is in the intermittent position. The problem I have is that my intermittent setting does not work.
In wet conditions I move the wiper arm to position 1 and the blades clear the screen, but only once. They will not move again until I either exit and re-enter intermittent mode, adjust the intermittent speed or move the stalk to position 2. Even if I re-enter intermittent mode or adjust the intermittent speed the wiper arms only move once.
Has anybody come across this problem before?
Any advice will be appreciated.

Re: Intermittent and automatic wiper problem
I've had the car for over a year and noticed the problem weeks afetr buying it. Stupidly however I never made the time to have it fixed under warrenty. I use the car every day for work related travel and couldn't be without it during the week.
It's been tried in most levels of rain now with no success. The service history doesn't mention a windscreen change. The auto lights still work. Would this sensor have had to be changed after a windscreen change also?

Re: Intermittent and automatic wiper problem
freddymercurystwin, that sounds exactly right,i had the same problem with mine after i`d had the screen renewed (i did`nt know at the time that the sensor must be renewed too)and i too found that the auto lights were fine but no auto wipers.
i checked through the forum and deduced that the sensor must be faulty and when i removed it i found that the gel pad was missing (obviously still on the scrapped screen).luckily i found a boxed, new sensor with pad (you can`t buy the pad alone
) for,i think £28,and all was fine after fitting the new one.

Re: Intermittent and automatic wiper problem
Thank you both for your contributions. I am sourcing a replacement sensor kit for fitting and based on what I've read I'm confident that this will solve the problem.
Can anyone offer any guidence for fitting the sensor kit?

Re: Intermittent and automatic wiper problem
AFAIK the sensor requires fitting with some special gel. the haynes manual says they managed to remove and replace it ok, but might be best left to an expert.
i also remember hearing that the same sensor can be purchased from nissan for a lower price..not sure if thats true or not.

Re: Intermittent and automatic wiper problem
I've got the same problem on my 2007 Megane 1.6 VVT. Auto lights work well but no intermittent wipe-windscreen is original. Guess I'd better get the sensor replaced whilst in for service
Is anyone aware of a problem with front foglights-mine don't work & haven't since I bought the car in Sept 08. Only just getting around to sorting out all the minor niggles with it
My daughter has an 04 plate 1.4 Dynamique with the same problem so thought I'd better ask before I shell out £44 for two sets of bulbs at Halfords!
