New megane TV ad is wrong

Postby Toosh » Tue Nov 25, 2008 7:18 pm

Have you seen the new megane TV advert?

At the end it says "remember when you said you will never buy a Renault"

Shouldn't there be another advert for Renault owners with the ending "remember when you said you will never buy another Renault"

Thats more true to life i think

Ive not seen the new megane advert, but ive seen one in the flesh now, my brother is a salesman at renault and asked if a wanted to have a look, i think its a design that will grow on me as with any new car.

I must be one of the luckly ones, out of all the french cars ive had ive never had any real problems.
Ive had
Saxo Furio
Saxo VTR
Saxo VTS
Pug 607 2.2 HDI excutive
pug 107 1.0 urban (had this when i bought me house as i was skint lol)
Pug 206 (misses car when i met her)
Citroen berlingo van 1.9 D
Citroen Dispatch van 2.0 HDI
Renualt Traffic van 1.9 DCI
Renualt Vel Satis 3.0 V6 DCI
Renualt Clio III 1.4 16v Dynamique RS
Renault Megane CC 1.6 16v Dynamique

the only real prob i has was with the PUG 607, was off the road for a month, all the electrics, i mean all the electircs, even the dash stopped working. they couldnt find what was wrong, even pug techical department didnt know what was wrong! until one of the technians found a ECU that controlled the rear parking sensors that was hidden in the rear inner wing, this unit wasnt on any of the wiring diagrams or exploded diagarms for the car. this was faulty. changed it and everything worked again

Before i met the misses, i had a van for work and a car, i like big cars, hence the pug 607 and velsatis, ive had other big cars such as a subaru etc etc, but not french  then i met the misses who had a 206. we got serious and bought a house, so the 206 and 607 had to go to free up funds etc.. so we bought the 107 for summat like £120 a month, cheep tax and insurance etc... so that put us down to 1 car and a van rather than 2 cars and a van. then after 12 months in the house we got the clio and now the megane. the misses hates big cars, but im slowly winning her over and the gradually are getting bigger :lol shes always liked the meagne CC and one came up at the right price, oh and i have my Navara for work which is a massive bus

Maybe i'm being a little cruel, so far *touches wood* my Megane as been trouble free compared to other French cars ive had -
93L Peugeot 106 1.4 Roland Garros. Only heater matrix died behind the dash resulting in nice wet anti freeze smelling feet after a drive.

98R Shitroen Paxo VTS. Here goes, Manifold pressure sensor failure, Loads of ABS sensors going down, Front wishbone bushes, Rear anti roll bar bushes twice, Crank case seal failure, Blown head gasket, Rear trailing arms, In tank fuel pump, Auxiliary belt twice. To be fair tho i was doing 800 miles a week in it.

99T Peugeot 406 V6 Executive. Rear anti roll bar bushes. Great car, never missed a beat and i sold it with 139000 miles on the clock. I hope the Meg will be as good as this was.
