Hi All,
Can anyone help?.... Driving home on monday night my 2005 Megane Coupe Cab 1.6 vvt lost power
and the engine started to run a little rough, the idle speed had dropped slightly and the fuel consumption started to
deterioate, then after only a few more miles the engine management light came on (now and then going off on its own).
The car only has 21,000 miles on it, Can anyone throw any ideas at me to what it might be?
Also is the engine management light the same as the toxic fume light? only I have read some ownership problems
that mention this light with the same problems?
Many thanks for any help.... Allen.

Hi Andywills,
Thanks for your reply,
I think you are right I run a few checks tonight (uncliped the small connector to the coils one by
one) cylinder three had no affect on the engine while all the others virtually stalled the engine,
I swapped the faulty coil to no one cylinder and the problem went with it!.
Gonna get a new set tomorrow, not sure whether to go for genuine or pattern? what do you think?
Thanks Again Allen.

Re: Engine management light on!
i don't think any make of pencil coil is bullet proof...a lot of people seem to think Beru are the best...
they work in pairs so best to replace at least 2 of them (inside 2, outside 2)...if you replace all 4 then keep 2 good ones for spares for the next time...you'll need them

Hi markren2004.
Yes Thats a good idea, I think I will buy all four as you said, then I have some spares (to go along with all my other
spares!)
Gonna buy four today, let you all know if it solves the problem,
Thanks Again, Allen.
