Re: Oil filters
Hello, the price for a Genuine Renault one is not that bad, if you get a factors one, make sure its a Mahle or branded one, regards Damian.

Re: Oil filters
These engines are sensitive to the quality of filters. Yours is F9Q-800, so the original filter is Purflux LS926 -- see Purflux web site for dimensions. The dealers frequently confuse this filter with a smaller one, so check the dimensions.
For oil types see my message in Links. Basically in the UK you can get Shell Helix Ultra 5w40, Mobil 1 0w40, etc. Just make sure it has RN0710 or MB229.5 and 0-5w40 on the label.

Re: Oil filters
Thanks for your advice guys.
@Alexb. Thanks for all the info just did a web search and came across an old thread of yours viewtopic.php?t=5112
As for oil ive seen your post in links, but was thinking of getting some Motul 8100 X-clean 5w-40 oil which is ACEA B4 recommended.
Do i have to get this type of high quality oil if im going to change it every 5k?

Re: Oil filters
Motul X-Clean is MB229.31 -- it is optimised for FAP and has reduced TBN (tolerance to water and acids). Last summer I spent some time choosing the oil and decided upon Mobil 1 0w40, MB229.5, high TBN (11), no esters -- this is for short journeys in winter.
Added later.
MOTUL recently published a document confirming that Motul X-Clean 5w40 is RN0710 -- suitable for non-FAP DCI engines (see the appropriate link in my message in Links).
