Changing Brakes

Postby Scrooge » Tue Jul 15, 2008 7:07 pm

Hi

Need some advice on this one please. I am going to be replacing the pads on my 2ltr VVC 55 plate. Can you give me any advice on what makes to buy and avoid of pads and what price i should be looking at. Also is there any pitfalls i should be looking out for or is it as simple as the ols shape megane and done in under an hour both sides.

OK I admit i havent even taken the Alloys off to have a look yet but a bit like Fred Flinstone with his feet through the bottom of the car braking so the misses has told me to get the done ASAP ! :devil

as for the makes:

at the front I have had mine replaced by ATE, both disks and pads. breaks very well, screeching hasnt become better or worse.
at the rear I chose original rennault disks and noname pads, also ok.

I payed 300 Euros (=220 Pounds? ) all round:

Disks and Pads front €143 (=£100) from local dealer
Disks Rear Original Renault €149 (= £ 100) from ebay: Click , incl. wheelbearings, Renault-price is £ 200 !!!
Pads rear €20 (= £15)
