Re: Lowering and filter
The lowering im not sure about, been thinking about it my selft. I think other people recomend no lower that 35mm, there are quite a few posts on this forum somewhere. The filter depends whether your meg is diesel or petrol, if its diesel get a air filter Ive been recomended ITG. If its petrol get induction kit.

Re: Lowering and filter
Ive got -45mm spax springs on ordered them off the net cost about £100 theres a number of places that sell them, got mine from TopGear.
Had mine on for nearly two year with no problems what so ever.
As for fitting most garages will be able to do it, just go into a few and ask for prices, or check on yell.com and give em a ring. shouldnt really be payin much more than £60, i paid £30 to get mine done, just to give you an idea.
Ive got 18's on as well and theres still loads of room under the arches, so with standard wheels your fine.
As for filters if your after improved bhp whether it a diesel or petrol the itg replacement element is the only way to go. can be bought from k-tec or direct from itg. they only cost about £40
if your just after the noise that you get from an induction kit, cant really suggest one, but if you do go down that route just so you know, you may lose bhp, some people with megsports dyno'd theres and found the itg pannel filter to be the best. im sure there was a company with a forced induction kit in the pipelines which would guarentee more bhp (maybe 2 if your lucky) but you'd be looking at £200+ and not sure if its be done yet

Re: Lowering and filter
Ah so induction kits are kind of pointless for petrol, they just give you noise?

Re: Lowering and filter
there not pointless on all petrol and diesel cars just on the meg, i think its cause the stadard setup has been done so well that when you mess on with it it knacks the air flow.
People with the megsports tried everything aswell including making forced induction kits with cold air feeds from the lower grills, looked ace but lost bhp.
Yeah you get a growl and sort of whistle from an induction kit when you put your toe down. they sound well, make you use more petrol tho, thru flogging it in low gears haha

Re: Lowering and filter
Ah right ok, so the only thing worth doing to a meggy is the air filter.

Re: Lowering and filter
IL GO DOWN THE PANEL FILTER ROUTE THEN.DO YOU GET ANY EXTRA NOISE FROM THE PANEL FILTER?
