Hi Im after some advise about the EGR valve on my megane 1.9 dci 54 plate 40000 miles. ive read on the internet that failure to maintain/clean the EGR valve can lead to filure of the turbo. when i bought the car the previous owner had the first service carried out in a toyota dealer because she worked there and ive just carried out the 36000 mile service so i guess that nothing has been done to the EGR valve.
Can anyone give me some advise on weather or not the valve would need a clean as its done 40000 miles or shall i leave it be ?????
Any advise would be apreciated cheers iash101!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 1.9 DCI EGR VALVE
Hello iash101,
In my personal opinion -- yes, it should be checked and cleaned alongside with the channels to the intake manifold and crankcase ventilation system. It is a simple DIY job and I am not sure if it feasible with dealers... Ask for details if you are going to do it, and read the manual pointed at in my message in Links section of this forum.
