HELP!!

Postby N19 ALE » Tue May 20, 2008 4:48 pm

Hi all here is my problem i cleaned the throttle body on my 1.4 megane and since then i had the toxic fume and service light came on. The AA came round and the fault showed that it was the Throttle Acuator Control with the code P0638 now does any body have a clue what this is and is it an easy fix.
Thanks Alan

How did you clean it? Are you sure that carb cleaner did not get into the actuator or on the connector? Did you hold the throttle body with its actuator up? Are you sure that the butterfly valve was returned into its original position after cleaning? -- The stepper motor can be out of sync. Did you disconnect the battery?
