Gear knob removal

Hey guys found a thread relating to gear knob removal which had a link for an FAQ on the subject but link was dead. Ive tried pulling and twisting but no joy! Anyone managed this?

take a look at it's a bit hard

Iv done it, unclip the plastic trim ring first so u dont accidently crack it. i ended up being straddled over the gear knob n yankin it, just popped off! that sound so wrong.... :roll:

hold on only renault knobs will fit according to old post..... although ive seen pics on here of aftermarkets on

other knobs do fit eventually
you need to take the cross edges off with a stanley knife
then use silicon when putting old one back on to sell car and hope the new owner does not want it off again

bought my orange stiched black one yesterday,picking it up at half five to fit :)
