Hi guys, I recently got an 04 Renault Megane Expression Estate. I have had a message coming up for a while saying 'change oil soon' a week or so ago I started to get a flashing spanner all the time as well. Handbook not very clear, does this mean that I have to take the car to the dealer because something is wrong. Advice appreciated.
TF.

Re: Warning Lights
Hello and welcome!
THe message means your car is due a service soon. If you know it has been recently serviced, then the "change oil soon" countdown indicator has not ben reset and can be done by looking at this link:

Re: Warning Lights
Appreciate the advice but it didn't work. All the other things e.g. MPG and Range reset but 'change oil soon' and flashing spanner were still there. Any more ideas.
Thanks,
TF.

Re: Warning Lights
Hi and welcome along!
The above reset does work - try it this way.
With the mileage display at Total miles. Press the end of the right hand stalk and scroll through the trip computer.. after the 6th press you will reach the display that says either "To Service" or "change Oil Soon".
Then press the small black button on the Bottom Right handside of the Rev counter Bezel.. Keep it pushed in until the display starts to flash, it will then change to flashing 18,000. keep it pushed in until the 18,000 stops flashing then release the black button..

Did the trick. Thanks RobZ. I did try this before but the button was hard to press and did not yield, but after your advice I pushed it considerably harder et voila!!! as the manufacturers might say.

Or they might just say that'll be a few hundred pounds please. Well they will have had to take off the bumper to get to that button

I like it!
Don't forget that as well as a bumper off job, they always add the (now standard) diagnostics charge of £82.12!!!!!
