Sunroof won't open

Hi, tried to open my sunroof today but it wouldn't open. When the switch is engaged the sunroof moves slightly but closes immediately. Any help or suggestions much appreciated. :(
1.4, 3 dr hatch, 118,000miles

Probably seized over winter. Has it been opened recently? I believe they are like air con they should be used couple of times throughout winter to stop them seizing. Might need some lubricant on and a little pressure.

Thanks for the advice. It was working fine last week but hadn't been used over winter. I have got it to work again by applying pressure to the sunroof. Unfortunately it will not open without this pressure. There are no problems when it is closing.

i had the opposite prob, mine wouldnt close. the pop up bar had got really stiff and the pressure of the sunroof closing couldnt force it down. lots of grease later and its fine now
