Windscreen wipers won't work

Started the car the other morning and the wipers would not work. They worked the night before. I have located the fuse box in the engine compartment and replaced the fuse. Still won't work. Any sugestions? Could it be the wiper motor and if so are they difficult to replace? Saw 2nd hand one on e-bay for £22. If I take it to Renault I know it is going to cost me £100000s....
