Grand Sceinic 05 Heating Problem

Was away for 3 days, car was unused, started it up & the heating/air con not working, there is a light on in heating display, but nothing happening. Brought it to my local garage (Non Renault) & said looks like a big job, will have to remove the front dash to investigate - Any ideas

Translated to mean "I haven't got a clue but will charge you xxx per hour to fiddle about." Get a second opionion.

Ya, planning to take it to the nearest Renault garage - but would like to have some idea of the what's involved

Could it not be something as simple as a Fuse in the engine bay? Seems odd the aircon and the heater go at the same time.
