Battery Costs

Postby john10001 » Sat Feb 23, 2008 11:28 pm

I just wondered how much you should expect a new 48 amp battery for a 1.6 Megane to cost?

Also do you have to get the battery from a Renault dealer or can you buy elsewhere?

I'd also love to know how much would be reasonable costs for the following in your experience:

Rear Brake Discs
Rear Brake Pads
Camshaft Sensor

Cheers

£165 for a battery is horrendous  i replaced the battery on my 1.9 for £53,that was a unipart item,3yr warranty (no fitting on that as i did it myself)
the prices of the other parts (in your other post) seem about right, although doing the sums it seems that you`ve been charged £243 (inc vat) for labour, which seems a bit steep for a job which (i think) should take around two hrs.
also don`t forget (if this is the only car in the family) to mention that this cock up has affected your day to day life too as you will have been struggling to do the weekly shopping, kids to school etc.
