New car, fault no.1. Boot light.

Quick question. The light in my boot (1.4 16v Dynamique, 54 reg) wasn't working. So I took the lamp cover off and found it was disconnected. Reconnected it and found out why it had been disconnected - it wasn't turning off when the boot was closed. Is there a simple fix or am I taking it back to the dealers this week?

Is your boot coming up as open on the dash at the same time? I presumed it was linked up via that system.

Hold on, I'll go look...


...yes, it shows up as open on the dash, but only when it's opened. When the bootlid is shut, the dash shows it as shut but the light is still on...
