Help Req

Postby Justice Socks » Sun Jan 13, 2008 4:33 pm

How hard is it to get the fascia off the centre console where the key is inserted. My daughter has pushed in the card holder and the card is stuck inside.

Prior to this the car would start and the wipers/headlights and all the dash lights would come on and stay on even when switched off.

remove the radio, and the little storage box below it first. The headunit (radio) requires a removal tool, but if you just get 4 long strong cocktail sticks and shove them in the holes and get it out that way it'll save you buying the tool. The storage box below is held in by clips.

the plastic facia, which runs along from just under the centre air vents, down to where the starter button is, is held on with plastic clips. Just get a screw driver or something :-) The area where the radio and storage box has been removed, there are 2 screws i recall. Also there are two screws behind the ECU port access panel (I think), this is below the starter/central locking and hazard buttons. Again, the panel is clipped in. to get it off, start from the top of the panel.. with a flat screwdriver or something.

sorry for the rough guide, but I'm late for work!

good luck and have fun!

pw981, you are a diamond.

I thought it was a job not to be taken on by myself but after your post I will give it a try.

Many Thanks.
