I'm looking at a new CD/DVD player for in my new Megane, could someone tell me whether it is DIN 1 or 2, I'm not sure exactly what I'm asking here so bare with me, I think it means the single or double size space for the CD player?
I'm getting a Megane Dynamique 1.6 VVT (56 Plate) - anyone know?
Thanks!

It's probably worth reading through the ICE (In Car Entertainment) section. I think you can fit either single height or double height. Personally I'm happy with the standard Update list head, but then I don't have time to watch DVDs in the car...

It wouldn't be for me! My girlfriend lives 180 miles away an when shes in the car I thought it would be alright if she could have a DVD to watch instead of listenin to me yabble on for 2 1/2 hours!

if your putting it in the dash position be careful, any display in view of driver capable of showing tv, dvd, games etc must not be able to do so whilst in motion, if you get it fitted professionally or by halfrauds they connect it to handbrake sensor switch so it will only show such stuff when handbrake on.
Sorry to bear bad news but if the police see it you will be pulled.
These guys have fitted single din (1) which is the standard radio size, one has installed it in top slot where your radio is, the other in bottom slot where your tray under the radio is (in car fitted with dash cd changer this hole is filled with that) so you can put it in either,

see this thread, reckon a double din will also fit in place of storage tray and current radio, this will be twice size from top to bottom of standard radio and hence known as double din (2)

if its for the passenger when car in motion assuming you dont want to break the law think only way forward is one of those personnel dvd players which will power off the ciggie lighter..

QUICK TRICK
to make your DVD player play whilst the car is in motion, the wire that needs to connect to the hand break, needs to be connected to an earth.
its handy to have a built in sat nav for the screen, so you can quickly sqitch to sat nav when you feel the eyes of the law gazing upon you.
im selling mine!! lol
