having just replaced my spark plugs this morning i noted the coil maker and date stamp (1.6 vvt)
1. 3-328 (Renault Sagem)
2. 245-5 (Renault Sagem)
3. 107-6 (Sagem)
4. 328-3 (Renault Sagem)
I found this quote from ALEXB in an other listing
"The Green Note 4242A is about the coil types. It says that if a SAGEM coil fails and its production date is before "330-3" then all four coils must be replaced by DENSO"
I'm assuming the date stamp is Julian date (e.g. 3-328 means the 328th day in 2003 ) in which case the outside 2 of mine are before this date.
for peace of mind i'm thinking of replacing all 4 with probably BERU ones (or at least having a spare set handy)
Is my understanding correct on this coil date thing and 2 of mine are suspect ?

I think you are on the right lines there, but whether you would be able to claim on the warranty I don't know?
Best to keep them as a spare set just in case.

one of the original coils failed yesterday, so ive been to get some Beru ones, the shop gave me a make called Bremi, saying there better than Beru..and for the same price !! (well they would say that wouldn't they).
Anyway ive replaced all 4 with Bremi pencil coils, problem has been sorted, although there seems to be a slight hesitation with the revs when pressing acelerator.
has anyone had any experience of these Bremi pencil coils ?
