Rear brake pads

Postby pajopy » Sat Oct 27, 2007 4:34 pm

Hi *.*

Does anyone know from his/her own experience how to step-by-step replace rear break pads?
I get stuck on step "how to put piston back and make space for new pads" ...
:banghead

tnx

Hi mate i had the same problem
you have to twist it back in i chopped up a socket and made it fit and pushed and twisted it back in then every thing worked well
i think you can buy a tool to do it but i already taken the pads out and couldnt get them back .
hope this helps

Follow the last pointer in my message in the Links section.

I used a 19mm combination spanner to wind back the pistons. Put a short 1/2 inch bar through its ring and use it as a T-handle. Push the piston hard (10-20kg) with the open end and rotate clockwise. It is clockwise on both sides. Be careful, don't let it slip and damage the rubber part. Alternatively, use a proper tool like this:
